Partners Joshua J. Bennett and Stacey Cho Hernandez secured a victory for client Dallas County Hospital District d/b/a Parkland Health (“Parkland”) when the Dallas Court of Appeals reversed a trial court’s prior ruling that denied Parkland’s plea to the jurisdiction against former employee Michael Ballew’s claims for disability discrimination, hostile work environment, and retaliation.
On March 26, 2027, a three-judge appellate panel agreed with Parkland that the former employee presented no competent evidence to support these claims and dismissed all claims against Parkland for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.
